On October 23, 2015, with the approval of Jilin Provincial Government, Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology decided to award Ren Luquan, academician of Jilin University, Special Contribution Award of Science and Technology in Jilin Province. The Special Contribution Award of Science and Technology in Jilin Province is designed to reward the citizens who have made great breakthroughs and created great direct economic or social benefits in scientific and technological innovation, transformation of major scientific and technological achievements and industrialization of advanced technology. The award shall be awarded every two years with no more than 2 persons each time.
Ren Luquan is well deserving of this award. The Department of Science and Technology in Jilin Province also called on all the scientific and technological workers in the province to learn from Academician Ren Luquan and other prize-winners, continue to promote the scientific spirit of being pragmatic and brave in innovation, thoroughly realize the "innovation-driven" development strategy, strive to scale new heights in technology, and make greater contributions to the economic development and social progress of jilin Province.
