In order to boosting the fire safety responsibility awareness and the ability to recognize and avoid risks, The School of Bionic Science and Engineering, and the National Key Laboratory of Engineering Bionics joined hands with the Security Office to carry out a firefighting drill in front of Bionic Building on October 9th. Qian Feng, the administrative vice dean of the college, Yang Deming, the administrative deputy director of the National Key Laboratory of Engineering Bionics, and representatives of teachers and students took part in this event.
Qian Feng stressed that the firefighting Drill is a crucial measure to strengthen the fire safety of the college. All teachers and students should have the skills to evacuate and escape safely and be able to use firefighting equipment and facilities. He hoped that through this event, teachers and students could further raise their prevention awareness and improve their ability to put out initial fires, protecting the safety of life and property.
The teacher Wang Zhonggang from the Security Office gave a lecture on campus fire safety knowledge and emphasized the precautions in case of a fire. He introduced the ways to put out different kinds of fires and the usage scenarios of different firefighting equipment, and demonstrated how to use a fire extinguisher. Teachers and students on the scene actively participated. Under the guidance , they got familiar with the use of fire extinguishers and carried out on-site fire extinguishing drills.
This firefighting Drill has effectively enhanced the evacuation and self-rescue skills of our faculty and students, providing a guarantee for the fire safety management work of our laboratory and our campus.
