Introduction of XRD: X-ray diffractometer is mainly used to study the microstructure, such as crystal structure, phase analysis of polycrystalline materials, crystal orientation, lattice constant and crystallinity. Any crystalline substance has a specific crystalline structure. Each crystalline substance produces its own diffraction pattern when exposed to a certain wavelength of X-rays. Every substance corresponds to its diffraction pattern one to one, and it is impossible for two substances to give exactly the same diffraction pattern.
With the diffraction principle, the crystal structure, texture, and stress can be measured accurately. Also, the precise phase analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis have become an effective method to study the microstructure of crystalline materials and some amorphous materials. It has been widely used in metallurgy, petroleum, chemical industry, scientific research, aerospace, teaching, material production and other fields.
At present, a large number of XRD tests are needed in the bionics research, which are used for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the components and structures of biological prototypes and biomimetic materials. To some extent, the time uncertainty of outsourcing analysis hinders the rapid development of research.
For the irregular sample structure analysis required by bionics in this laboratory, sample preparation is required for outsourcing analysis, which is often unable to be analyzed due to sample oxidation corrosion, or the low power and poor sensitivity of ordinary diffractometer, so it is hard to get satisfactory analysis results.
This equipment can directly analyze oxidized and corroded samples, which will greatly improve the ability and level of material structure analysis in this laboratory and meet the needs of biomimetic materials research. At present, the research work of several material disciplines in the laboratory look forward to putting the equipment into service as soon as possible. And hope this device can play a role in the research work of material preparation technology and basic theory.
